A MESSAGE FROM MSP PRESIDENT - STEVE MILLER
GOING GLOBAL THROUGH SPORT
Each August, the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah
brings professional cycling to the scenic byways
of Utah and shares the thrill of competition and
the beauty of our state around the world through
television and the Internet.
As an NBA franchise, the Utah Jazz has been our
flag bearer in international sport for three decades,
but the emergence of the Tour of Utah, a worldclass
event with 122 athletes from 24 countries,
and other Miller Sports Properties have further
solidified our global reach. Miller Performance has
attracted the top motorsports drivers with a state-of-the-art facility, and
the Salt Lake Bees have an international roster of players in the pipeline to
MLB’s Los Angeles Angels.
Due to the high-profile nature of sports and entertainment, the Jazz, Bees,
Miller Motorsports Park, Tour of Utah, EnergySolutions Arena, KJZZ, The
Zone and All-Star Catering are often our “front porch,” introducing people to
the LHM Group through Miller Sports Properties. Once they open the door,
the public learns about the remarkable diversity of services, breadth of our
reach and commitment to our communities where we work, live and play.
"WE BELIEVE THAT SPORTS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF
OUR SOCIETY AND SERVE AS A POWERFUL VEHICLE TO
ENTERTAIN, INSPIRE, ASSIST AND CONNECT PEOPLE."
Why are we in the sports business? Certainly, a story exists behind each
property, but fundamentally we believe that sports are an integral part of
our society and serve as a powerful vehicle to entertain, inspire, assist and
connect people. Many of the primary motivators for sports fans match up
with our own core values and reasons for providing quality entertainment.
• Events bring family and friends together for shared experiences
• Sport activities set an example for health and wellness
• Winning organizations demonstrate teamwork and collaboration
• Athletes inspire us to set our goals higher in everyday life
• Amazing feats help us believe in the impossible
• Desire to win validates our competitive nature and rewards hard work
• Communities are united under the banner of sports
Our family entered the sports industry in 1985, and we are proud of the
impact of our players, teams and events both locally and globally through
the years. Our intent is to continue fielding high-quality teams and attracting
special events that enhance our quality of life, contribute to the economic
vitality of the region, reflect our organizational values and make all of us
proud to be fans.
