TWO SENIOR MANAGERS CELEBRATE RETIREMENT FROM LHM GROUP
After 29 years and one month with the
Group, Bob Hyde announced he would
retire on June 30, 2014. Bob was serving
as the chief financial officer for the Utah
Jazz, and as president of Fanzz.
Bob oversaw the growth and expansion
of Fanzz Sports Stores, helping the
successful chain grow to more than 120
locations in 22 states.
As CFO for the Utah Jazz, Bob was responsible for maintaining
the financial elements of the salary cap and related aspects
of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the National
Basketball Association (NBA) and its Players Association, as
well as Jazz player contract administration.
Bob joined the Utah Jazz in May of 1985 as vice president
of finance. Two years later, he was asked to also serve as
president of Pro Image (which later became Fanzz).
Jim Derrick, property manager for
Jordan Commons, retired from the
Group on September 1, 2014.
Jim began his career with the LHM
Group taking on special projects. His
first assignment was to ensure the
well-being of a recent widow of an
automotive employee. In November
2001, Larry Miller asked him to manage
Jordan Commons, and he has been
in that role ever since. Jim has also supervised numerous
construction projects including the Larry H. Miller Super Ford
dealership, Prestige Financial and the Zions Bank Basketball
Center, as well as construction on the final phase of the Salt
Lake Community College – Miller Campus.
A luncheon was held in Jim’s honor on August 26, and he also
threw out the first pitch at the Salt Lake Bees game as part of
the LHM Group employee summer party.
