$ 25M Gift will Transform Arts in Salt Lake Valley
Anew chapter for the arts in the Salt Lake Valley is on the horizon . The Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation has pledged $ 25 million to build a regional arts center in South Jordan . Operated by Salt Lake County Arts & Culture , the center will become a cultural hub in downtown Daybreak , just southeast of the new Bees baseball stadium .
“ We believe the arts enrich lives , foster connection , and strengthen communities ,” said Gail Miller . “ This donation is an investment in our community ’ s future , creating a space for creativity to thrive and for people to experience the transformative power of the arts .”
Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson highlighted the project ’ s regional importance , calling the partnership with the Miller Foundation “ inspiring ” and the new venue a “ vital cultural hub for the southwest valley .”
Currently in the design phase , the center will feature an 800-seat proscenium theater , a visual art gallery , and classrooms for creativity and education . Construction begins January 2026 , with doors opening in early 2028 .
Complementing the $ 25 million donation , Larry H . Miller Real Estate is contributing three acres of land in Downtown Daybreak , maximizing regional accessibility .
The project aligns with Salt Lake County ’ s Cultural Master Plans , addressing the need for regional arts centers . With this vision , the Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Arts Center promises to be a centerpiece for artistic growth and community engagement in South Jordan .
