May 25 , 2022 – Earlier this year , the Utah State Legislature passed a bill in the 2022 General Legislative Session requiring every K-12 female and unisex bathroom to provide free period products . The installation of the first period-product dispenser was installed at Hillcrest Junior High School on May 25 , made possible through a generous $ 1 million
donation each from the Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation and the Andrus Family Foundation .
“ Learning of the challenges women and girls are facing due to the lack of period products was disheartening ,” said Karen Williams , trustee of the Miller Family Foundation . “ The proper supply of menstrual products helps Utah women and girls find a more equitable footing when it comes to work attendance and learning in school . Families are faced with difficult decisions each day , and when they struggle with food insecurity , they have to choose between necessities .”
The Period Project , an initiative of The Policy Project led by Emily Bell Mc- Cormick , formed a public-private partnership with the Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation and the Andrus Family Foundation to raise awareness of this issue and bring a solution to the Utah State Legislature .
May 26 , 2022 – Larry H . and Gail Miller were inducted into the Colorado Automotive Hall of Fame at a gala held in Colorado Springs . “ The Millers showcase what the automotive industry is all about . Their passion and community involvement are remarkable ,” said Tim Jackson , President / CEO of the Association . “ Together , Larry and Gail embody the business ethics and commitment to their customers that inspire our members .”
June 5 , 2022 – Utah Jazz Head Coach Quin Snyder resigned after an eightyear run with the team . He guided the Utah Jazz to six consecutive playoff appearances , was an NBA coach of the year finalist the previous season , and he won nearly 60 % of his games with the franchise .
