June 13 – Nearly a dozen kids gathered in St. George, Utah for‘ Camp Connection,’ a five-day camp that provides fun activities for children on the autism spectrum. The camp was organized by Kenzie and Glen Bien, the founders of‘ Walk With Autism’, a local non-profit organization that promotes awareness and acceptance of individuals with autism.
One of the week’ s activities was a private screening of‘ Lilo and Stitch’ at Megaplex’ s Sunset Corner Stadium 8. Megaplex reduced the volume of the film and lowered the lights in the theater to ensure a calmer, less overwhelming environment.
July 10 – The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation teamed up with the Salt Lake Bees, Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals FC for the 2025 Show Up for Teachers conference, an annual event celebrating Utah’ s dedicated educators.
Team representatives at the event connected with educators from across the Beehive State, handed out soccer swag and shared information on youth sports initiatives for students.
July 11 – The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family announced a $ 2 million donation for the transformation of Sandy’ s Alta Canyon Sports Center into a state-of-the-art Sandy Community & Recreation Center. This $ 19.5 million project is a collaborative effort between Sandy City, Salt Lake County and private donors. The new facility will serve over 59,000 residents, offering a welcoming space for individuals and families of all ages.
Steve Miller, chairman of the Larry H. Miller Company and trustee of the Miller Family Foundation, expressed,“ We’ re honored to be part of a project that will benefit community residents now and for generations to come.”
July 17 – Miller Sports + Entertainment, Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals FC hosted Special Olympics athletes from around the world on July 17 for the first-ever Athlete Design Co _ Lab at America First Field. Fifteen athletes joined in person with more attending virtually. The athletes worked with designers and local celebrities, including former RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando and Utah First Lady Abby Cox, to sketch designs for future Special Olympics merchandise. Each group presented its own unique design and explained what it meant to them.
Following the design lab, the athletes toured America First Field and were surprised with gear from Utah’ s sports teams, including personalized RSL jerseys. Wearing their new jerseys, the athletes walked through the players’ field tunnel and were cheered on by local celebrities, MSE employees and other event staff. The athletes later toured The Ballpark at America First Square, the new home of the Salt Lake Bees.
