The largest living organism on Earth is in Utah . The Pando Aspen Grove in south-central Utah has more than 47,000 trees in the grove that are spread out over 106 acres . The root system , if stretched out end to end , would cover 12,427 miles , a distance equal to half the circumference of Earth . When looking at aspen groves , you would never know they were connected by a single root system .
Reflecting on the history of our family ’ s company and philanthropic efforts to where we are now , we see the various “ roots ” connecting along the way . Making us stronger . Together .

These simple but powerful words reflect the Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation ’ s efforts to harness our relationships to achieve the best outcomes in the communities we serve . We believe one of the most enriching and exciting ways we can “ do good together ” is through philanthropy . When we come together to work on issues collectively , the rate of change increases and complex problems can be solved . However , we cannot do that without collective listening , learning , love and action .

The Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation was established in 2007 to continue the philanthropic spirit exemplified by Larry and Gail Miller for future generations . The Miller Family Foundation supports programs that enrich lives and communities in the areas of health and medicine , shelter and food security , education and skill development , jobs and economic self-reliance , and cultural and spiritual enrichment , all as part of our organization ’ s mission to enrich lives .
The Miller family released their second impact report highlighting Miller Family Foundation and Miller family members ’ giving .
“ Philanthropy has always been an important part of our family ’ s belief system . From the time we were little , my parents emphasized with our family the importance of philanthropy and community service . Naturally , this carried over to the business ,” said Steve Miller , chairman of the LHM Company board and trustee of the Miller Family Foundation . “ As the company began to grow , so did their desire to lift others and give back to the community . Similarly , as our businesses and investments grow , our ability to give and do good increases . This is what we call the ‘ virtuous cycle .”
