Larry H . Miller ( LHM ) Charities is continuing its mission of helping women and children who live in communities where portfolio businesses of the Larry H . Miller Company are based . Donations are granted to 501 ( c )( 3 ) nonprofits , with a focus on supporting programs that address the issues of health and education . In recent months , $ 43,000 has been contributed .
Children ’ s Justice Centers ( CJC ) are county facilities that work with legal , social and law enforcement agencies to coordinate services for victims of child abuse as they move through the investigative and judicial process . Forensic interviews are conducted by trained specialists in a safe , homelike environment to avoid creating secondary trauma . Parents are made aware of resources available for the child and family . LHM Charities recently donated to Friends of the Salt Lake County Children ’ s Justice Center ,
a nonprofit group that supports this critical work being done in the community .
A contribution to Youthlinc is funding Real Life , a peer mentoring program offered to immigrant / refugee children and teens in Utah . A life-skills curriculum is utilized to help youth understand and adapt to their new culture . The program helps participants improve English language abilities , learn about healthy relationships , and engage in
