Steve Starks named to 2034 Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee
Just over six months since the election of Salt Lake City-Utah as the host of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2034, a major landmark in preparations took place with the formation of the official organizing committee. On February 14, 2025, the members of the organizing committee were announced at the Utah State Capitol by Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox and US Olympic and Paralympic Committee CEO Sarah Hirshland.
Steve Starks, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Company, was introduced as the vice chair of the 2034 Winter Olympic Games organizing committee. Longtime Olympic leader Fraser Bullock was named executive chair and president. Brad Wilson, former Utah Speaker of the House and founder of Destination Homes, was named as chief executive officer and vice chair. The newlyformed committee, comprised of 24 influential Utahns, will prepare to welcome the world to Salt Lake City, Utah and build upon the legacy of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
As vice chair of the committee, Starks will work as an advisor to Bullock and Wilson in their respective roles. The trio will also partner with government officials, business leaders, former
Olympians and Paralympians, and community representatives to ensure the success of the games and its lasting positive impact on the Beehive State.
“ The next decade will really define Utah’ s future. And we have incredible things coming online and an opportunity to ensure that trajectory is what we want it to be, not only our brand on the world stage, but also what it means for the citizens of the state. We will all work to create a vision for what this will look like in 2034,” said Steve at the announcement.
