– Don Stirling Executive Director of the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation

Established in 2007, the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation was created to continue the philanthropic spirit exemplified by Larry and Gail Miller. Through its support of programs that enrich lives and strengthen communities— across health and medicine, shelter and food security, education and skill development, jobs and economic self-reliance, and cultural and spiritual enrichment— the Miller Family Foundation continues to build bridges that create lasting impact.

The 2024 Impact Report illustrates how that impact happens. From small-scale grants like the Westside Community Grant Initiative, which helps nonprofits providing services or programs to individuals on Salt Lake City’ s west side, to Strategic Initiative Grants that drive impact at the community and state level, each investment is rooted in a commitment to enriching lives and creating pathways to a better future.
One of the standout achievements of 2024 was the launch of General Operating( GO) Grants. These grants are small grants designed for firsttime applicants or newer nonprofits that cover essential costs to launch their ideas and create meaningful change in their communities. The GO Grant process has enabled the foundation to identify and support organizations in rural areas of Utah, advancing its commitment to funding in all 29 counties.
Another key highlight of the report is the ongoing success of the Miller Legacy Project, which fosters philanthropic engagement among the next generation of the Miller family. Led by the family’ s Giving
