measure workplace satisfaction, talent retention,
and excellent care of employees through a
confidential survey of employers and employees.

Takes the Top Spot
Jim Olson Named President of Utah Jazz and LHMSE
S
ince the promotion of Steve Starks to CEO
of the LHM Group, a search has been
underway for a new president of LHM
Sports & Entertainment. Earlier this fall, a new
president was announced, and Jim Olson was
selected for the position.

His 25 years at the LHM Group of
Companies have seen the full spectrum of
responsibility. He started with ticketing,
marketing, and sales. He has overseen the Salt
Lake Bees, The Zone Sports Network, and
the Tour of Utah. He also played an integral
role during the Vivint Smart Home Arena
renovation. He has held critical leadership
positions, including his past role as President
of Vivint Smart Home Arena, interim President
of LHMSE, Chief Operating Officer for
LHMSE, and Senior Vice President of Sales and
Marketing.
Jim will serve as president of LHMSE as
well as president of the Utah Jazz, overseeing
the day-to-day business operations of the
Jazz. As LHMSE President, Jim has the overall
responsibility for strategic planning, financial
results, revenue generation, client retention,
branding and marketing, communications,

people and culture, and technology.
In his years with the Group, Jim has
cultivated strong relationships with employees,
sponsors, premium ticket members, and
community leaders. He is keenly focused
on strengthening our workplace culture and
delivering results.
Jim and his wife, Suzi, have four children
and live in Salt Lake City. They are well regarded
and active in their community. Jim serves on
a number of boards and always exemplifies
the LHM values of integrity, hard work,
stewardship, and service wherever he goes. He
was most recently recognized with a 2019 Larry
H. & Gail Miller Values Award. He earned his
bachelor’s degree in mass communications-
broadcast journalism from the University
of Utah, and a master’s degree in sports and
recreation management from Northeastern
