A Glance at LHM Charities at Work in September and October
L
arry H. Miller Charities donates toward
501(c)(3) nonprofit charities that focus on
assisting women and children who live in
the communities where LHM Group companies
are based. Emphasis is placed on funding
programs that address the issues of health
and education. More than $400,000 has been
contributed in recent months.
In California, a grant to the Corona Police
Community Partnership is supporting Kids &
Cops Holiday Magic. The event provides gifts,
crafts, and games to underprivileged children in
the city.
Needy kids in Arizona are also receiving aid
during the holidays through funding given to
the Peoria Police Officers Association and its
Shop With a Cop Christmas program. Billy’s
Place was granted funding to assist grieving
children and their families, and A New Leaf
received a donation to support children’s
services at its La Mesita homeless shelter. A
contribution in Tucson went to Children’s
Clinics for adaptive recreation for kids with
disabilities.
In Colorado, a grant to Dream Centers
of Colorado Springs is supporting a housing

program for homeless single mothers and
children, and a donation to Catholic Charities
of Central Colorado is providing services
for homeless and struggling families. A
contribution to CASA of Pikes Peak is enabling
foster children to participate in extracurricular
activities. Other charities receiving aid include
Colorado Springs Therapeutic Riding Center
and Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity.
In Utah, a donation to The
Good Samaritan Foundation is
helping single women in need, and
a grant to Little Lambs Foundation
for Kids is providing comfort
kits to children entering foster
care. Arts programs are being
delivered to youth and schools
through funding contributed
to Ririe-Woodbury Dance
Foundation, Arts-Kids and Plan-B
Theatre Company. The Arthritis
Foundation was granted funding
for its juvenile arthritis camp for kids
and family education programs. Fit
to Recover and the Wheelin’ Jazz
also received support.
