LHM Charities Makes a Major Donation in Riverdale
September 1 was a significant day in the lives of many children in Utah who are struggling with grief and loss. At a special ceremony held at the headquarters for A Center for Grieving Children, representatives from Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Riverdale presented a check for $ 10,000. The organization aims to provide support for children who are struggling with the loss of a loved one through death, divorce, or a separation in the family.
“ Children who are experiencing grief show a marked decline in their academic performance, including disruptive behavior in the classroom, truancy, depression, and low self-esteem,” said Barbara Norris, executive director, A Center for Grieving Children.“ With more than 50 separate group meetings each month, we work to address these problems in children and teens by providing grief support in a safe, supportive peer setting through listening and sharing.” ◆

LHM Dealerships and Fire Departments Serve the Homeless
The homeless community in Arizona benefitted from a summer-long water drive aimed at providing them with bottled water during the hottest months of the year. A partnership between LHM Dodge Ram Peoria, LHM Chrysler Jeep Avondale, and four West Valley fire departments made this effort a success.
The initial goal was to gather 25,000 bottles of water over the course of the summer, but by the time the campaign ended on August 31, 74,996 bottles had been collected— almost triple the goal. Peoria Fire presented an award to General Manager Johnny Martinez and his employees( LMD) for collecting the most bottles during the summer water drive. ◆
