Gail Miller led the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the new theatre. UTAH Be Our Guest New Megaplex Luxury Theatre Opens in Utah. S teve Starks, president of LHM Sports & Entertainment, Scott Bates, president of LHM Real Estate, Blake Andersen, president of Megaplex Theatres, Rob Dahle, Holladay City Mayor, and other dignitaries, assisted Gail Miller, owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, in cutting the 70mm film to celebrate the grand opening of the new Megaplex Luxury Theatres in Holladay, Utah on March 8, 2017. “Entertainment is an important part of life,” said Gail Miller. “Someone might say, ‘All the Millers think about is having fun.’ Well, that’s a good part of life, and we’ll take it where we can get it.” The newest Megaplex complex is a highend luxury brand extension featuring nearly 500 heated power recliners spread across six state-of-the-art digital auditoriums, as well as premium furnishings and design finishes. The new Megaplex Luxury Theatres includes a VIP luxury lounge and auditorium offering guests in-seat concierge-level service. The luxury makeover took several months to complete after the LHM Group acquired the location from Water Gardens Theatres. Before that, the building was operated by Westates Theatres and was originally opened in 1988 by Cineplex Odeon. Since the newest Megaplex opened around the premiere of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast, celebrants were invited to a “Be Our Guest”-inspired ceremony and reception featuring movie characters Belle, Lumière, and Cogsworth. A reception in the Megaplex VIP Luxury Lounge included a buffet worthy of a Disney musical with beef ragout, cheese soufflé, and more. The new Megaplex Luxury Theatres creates 40 full- and part-time positions, and marks the beginning of new business and residential development in the Holladay area where plans are underway for the former site of the Cottonwood Mall. ◆ UTAH A Golden Voice Klauke Named Utah Sportscaster of the Year.
