March 8: LHM Dealerships announced that
several dealerships received top manufacturer
awards. LHM Lexus Murray and LHM Lexus
Spokane received the Elite of Lexus Award for
2016, as well as the League of Elite Award. LHM
Nissan Highlands Ranch received the Nissan
Award of Excellence. LHM Subaru Boise earned
the Subaru Stellar Care Award for 2016. LHM
Dodge Ram Avondale was honored with the
Walter P. Chrysler Club Award. LHM Toyota
Peoria and LHM Toyota Murray were invited to
the 2016 Toyota Customer First Advisory Board.
In addition, LHM Dodge Ram Avondale and
LHM Chrysler Jeep Avondale qualified for the
Pentastar Club.
March 20: Former Jazzmen Greg Ostertag
and Bryon Russell took part in the 11th annual
Junior Jazz Sportsmanship Party, which was held
at West High School. All Junior Jazz participants,
coaches, and families who won their city’s
sportsmanship competition were invited to attend
the free event.
March 22: Subaru of America, Inc. and Larry H.
Miller Subaru Boise presented a check in the
amount of $37,204 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Southwest Idaho, the dealership’s “hometown charity”
choice for Subaru’s “Share the Love” program.
March 26: The Utah Jazz clinched a spot in the
playoff s for the first time since 2012.
March 27: Larry H. Miller Toyota Boulder
supported the Arbor Day Foundation’s 2017
Boulder Community Tree Recovery program
throughout the month of April. The dealership, via
Larry H. Miller Charities, made a $15 donation for
every new vehicle purchased during the month.
March 29: The Utah Jazz and Mountain
America Credit Union announced that the RTI-
Utah Wheelin’ Wildcats were this season’s fifth
Pass It Along award recipient.
April 7: Miller Automotive Operations
announced that Ed Motzkin, general manager of
LHM Dodge Ram Tucson (TDR), was retiring.
Rich Smith, general sales manager at TDR, was
promoted to store manager. Johnny Martinez,
general manager at LHM Chrysler Jeep Avondale
(ACJ), was appointed general manager of LHM
Dodge Ram Peoria (LMD). Eric Ortega,
general sales manager at ACJ, was promoted to
store manager at ACJ. Dewayne Nighswander,
who joined the LHM Group in March 2017
after previously working for Autonation Ford in
Jacksonville, Florida, was appointed store manager
at Larry H. Miller Dodge Ram Cherry Creek
(DDR). Aaron Sessions, general sales manager at
LHM Chevrolet Murray (CHV), was promoted to
store manager at LHM Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram
Bountiful (BNT). Jason Rowland was promoted
from general sales manager to the store manger at
LHM Super Ford Salt Lake City. Sevan Stryker,
general sales manager at LHM Chrysler Dodge Jeep
Ram 104th (TCD), was promoted to store manager
at LHM Colorado Chrysler Jeep (DCJ) and LHM
Fiat Denver (DFI). Jack Andrews, general sales
manager at LHM Dodge Ram Tucson (TDR), was
promoted to store manager at LHM Alfa Romeo
and Fiat Tucson (TFI).
April 7: The Utah Jazz off icially captured the
2017 Northwest Division title. This marked the
ninth division title in franchise history, and the first
since the 2007-08 season.
April 14: During the 2016-17 NBA season, the
Utah Jazz and six corporate partners teamed
up to provide charitable donations in cash or
services worth more than $262,000 to schools and
nonprofit organizations along the Wasatch Front.
May 1: The LHM Group of Companies
announced its newest board member with the
appointment of Lewis L. (Lee) Bird III. Bird is the
chairman of the board and chief executive off icer
of the At Home Group Inc. Bird replaced Lloyd G.
“Buzz” Waterhouse who recently resigned.

Applications for the 2017 fall semester (2017–2018
academic year) must be completed online by
Saturday July 1, 2017. There is a new website
this year (http://scholarship.lhm.com), and all
students must create a new account. Off icial
school transcripts MUST be received by the July
1 deadline. More info and application details at
