THE SEASON FOR SERVICE
EMPLOYEES JOIN IN LHM DAY OF SERVICE 2016
Nearly 2,000 employees of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies took part in the Larry H. Miller Day of Service on Tuesday, April 26 during the annual event that honors our company founder, the late Larry H. Miller, on his birthday.
“ The Day of Service is an important event for our family and employees because of the opportunity it provides to volunteer side-by-side in the communities where each of us live and work,” said Gail Miller.“ Among our guiding principles is the desire to‘ Go about doing good until there’ s too much good in the world.’ By volunteering to serve the needs of others, we truly see this principle in action.”
The annual Day of Service began in 2010 as a way of honoring Larry’ s life of quiet service. Since its inception, the event has grown in size and scope each year with employees donating nearly 28,000 hours to more than 150 organizations.
This year, employees donated their time, smiles and elbow grease at more than 50 locations in the markets where the Group does business. Projects included painting, cleaning, gardening, installing and repairing fencing, assembling furniture, washing windows, landscaping, packing meals and organizing food donations( just to name a few).
Employees who weren’ t able to participate in the larger organized service projects found ways to serve throughout the day and week at work, home and in the community.
The pages that follow capture just of small sample of the many ways employees participated in the Day of Service. You can read the digital issue of the magazine at www. LHMWSM. com or visit the links below to see even more:
