Don Stirling and Kim Casaday GUEST SPEAKER: DON YAEGER HOW LOSING CAN MAKE GREAT WINNERS Don Yaeger, award-winning keynote speaker, business leadership coach, eight-time New York Times Best-selling author and longtime associate editor for Sports Illustrated was the guest speaker at this year’s conference. Don began the meeting by retelling the story of how he beat one of the greatest professional basketball players of all time, Michael Jordan, one-on-one in a game of basketball. Don went on to describe how, over the course of his career, he had made a point of asking successful athletes, from Roger Federer to Roger Staubach, what made them great. In the course of his keynote, Don shared 16 answers he received from those individuals, as well as the one observation he claimed, is essential for anyone who achieves success: they hate losing more than they love winning.
