ecently, tragedy struck one of the
communities where we do business. On
May 7, 2019, a school shooting at STEM
School Highlands Ranch in Colorado resulted
in the death of a student and injuries to several
others. Because of the shooting, the lives of
everyone in the community were disrupted.
While our nearest dealership, LHM Nissan
Highlands Ranch, could do little to help in
the immediate aft ermath, it did do something
that many people greatly appreciated. John
Franco, the father of a student at STEM School
Highlands Ranch, tells the story best in a post
he shared on social media.
“I would like to give. BIG thanks to Larry H.
Miller Nissan Highlands Ranch for helping my
son get his car back aft er the shooting at STEM
School Highlands Ranch. During the “event,”
my son lost his only car key. I called the service
department at the dealer and Jodie Cordova the
service manager called me back and said they
would get a key and try to program it at the
school to prevent me from having it towed.
I found out later that did not work so they
had the car towed and simply called me the next
day to tell me the car was ready. My wife and
son went to pick the car up today and they did
not charge us anything. Not only did they go
WAY beyond the norm but they did it to help
not for fi nancial gain. It was just one less thing
my family had to deal with.” ◆
