Michael Messina joined the
LHM Group in April 2013 with
the acquisition of the Avondale
Automotive Group, bringing more
than 30 years in the automotive
industry to his role as the general
manager.
Prior to the LHM Group, Mike held various management
positions with the Mel Farr Automotive Group (seven
years) and AutoNation in Las Vegas and Phoenix (10 years).

LYLES AND HANLAN TAKEN IN 2015 NBA DRAFT
The 2015 NBA Draft has come and gone, and the Utah
Jazz came away with two new players—Trey Lyles from
Kentucky and Olivier Hanlan from Boston College.
The Jazz selected Lyles, a 6-foot-10 forward who averaged
8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 23.0 minutes per game as a
freshman last season, with the No. 12 pick in the first round.
Mike completed the associate’s program at the Northwood
Institute in automotive marketing management. Past
boards he has sat on include the North Oakland
Community Credit Union (1995-2000) and the Subaru
Dealer Council. In his spare time, Mike enjoys home
renovations and traveling.
Mike and his wife, Lisa, enjoy fostering and adopting
Labrador Retrievers – every dog they have ever adopted
has been a rescue. The family makes their home in
Scottsdale, Arizona.
Hanlan came off the board at No. 42. A 6-foot-4 combo
guard, he averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2
assists per game and was named AP Honorable Mention
All-American as a junior last season. Hanlan signed with BC
Zalgiris in Lithuania. The Jazz will retain his NBA draft rights.

STEVE ELIASON RECEIVES HONORS
Ian McDonald was hired in 2014
as vice president of finance at
Fanzz. In this role, Ian oversees
the accounting, finance and loss
prevention activities at Fanzz.
FROM THE AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION
On Tuesday, June 9,
2015, the American
Foundation for
Suicide Prevention,
the largest suicide
prevention
organization in
the United States,
presented the Allies
in Action State
Award to State
Representative
Steve Eliason (R-Sandy, Utah) for his exemplary work
in preventing this leading cause of death. The award
recognizes the invaluable contributions made by
Representative Eliason, not only in public policy, but in
raising awareness for the importance of mental health and
suicide prevention issues in his home state of Utah.
Steve is completing his fourth year as a Utah State
Representative and is seeking reelection this fall. Steve is
the director of real estate for LHMSE.
VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE,
FANZZ
Ian has helped oversee the
implementation of a new ERP
system, and the redesign of a new compensation and
incentive plan for in-store employees at Fanzz.
He previously worked with Caterpillar in Illinois, spent time
in public accounting and served as a controller for an oil and
gas company in Utah.
Ian earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting
from the University of Utah. He’s also a certified public
accountant. He previously served as chair of the Young
Professionals Committees for the UACPA’s ProNet Council.
Ian’s interests include attending a new MLB ballpark game
with his wife each summer (so far they’ve visited eight
different stadiums in eight years of marriage).
Commenting on his time with the Group, Ian said, “This
company and its spirit has attracted many entrepreneurial
individuals (like myself) which is what makes coming to
work each day so enjoyable.”
Ian and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children and reside in
South Jordan, Utah.
