SHANE PARRISH
GENERAL MANAGER,
STOCKTON 12 HONDA
BRYAN J. MILLER "SILENT HEROES"
NEW SCHOLARSHIP
The Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce announced the
launch of the “Bryan J. Miller Silent Heroes Essay Contest” on
October 15, 2014. The Silent Heroes contest open to all Utah
10th grade students and seeks to draw attention to the silent
heroes who have done wonderful things for a child, a friend,
a neighbor, an animal or for their community. The students
write an essay nominating their hero and explain why they
are nominating them.
To encourage students to rediscover the lost art of writing
and to recognize their heroes, the Miller family is contributing
five $1,500 scholarships per year to the five winners of the
contest. Mountain America Credit Union is contributing to
the scholarships by allowing the students to deposit the
$1,500 scholarship money in a savings account where they
will earn 10% interest until the student is ready for college.
