LHM CHARITIES OCTOBER 2014 UPDATE Larry H. Miller (LHM) Charities continues its mission of supporting nonprofits that benefit women and children in the communities where our companies are based. Donations are distributed to programs that focus on health and education. A contribution to Union Gospel Mission in Spokane, Washington, will help provide Thanksgiving dinner to low-income and homeless community members. Funding granted to the Park Hill Bike Depot will support a program that offers refurbished bicycles to underprivileged youth in the Denver, Colorado, area. A contribution made to Nourish (Tucson, Arizona) will assist families with children who have dietary challenges, such as premature infants who need specialized formula. LHM Charities traditionally reaches out during the holidays to help others. The LHM Nissan Highlands Ranch’s Joseph Guajardo, Carla Turner, Amanda Valdez and Matt Carpenter present a check for Boys and Girls Clubs of Denver. GM Jim Brown (LEX/LLX) presents a $20,000 donation to the Utah Anti-Bullying Coalition. Tucson branch of the Salvation Army received support for Book Bonanza, a program that provides books to children at Christmas. In Utah, Firemen & Friends for Kids was granted funding for Bear Hugs for Kids, a program in which the Jazz Bear joins volunteers and takes underprivileged youth Christmas shopping. Each year, many low-income elementary school students and their families receive assistance through generous Sub for Santa donations distributed via Utah schools. Funding will be contributed in the following school districts: Salt Lake City, Granite, Provo and Ogden. Donations will also be made in the Cedar City and St. George areas. Other Utah organizations that received support from LHM Charities include People Helping People, Prevent Child Abuse, Kids on the Move, S.A.D.S. Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Utah County, Jordan Education Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Valley and more. Donating is a great way to celebrate the holidays!
