Treatment for children includes
skills for functional tasks, hand skills
for fine motor tasks, oral motor development and eating skills, body position for self-care and daily activities
and perceptual motor skills.
The closest facilities to Windsor that
provide the same level of treatment
for a lower cost can be found stateside.
Towsley is the only one in the area
able to provide this service – even
though it is in high demand.
She said the main problem with the
program is it is not covered by OHIP,
which can play a major role in preventing clients from getting the help
they need.
“I know nowhere else is able to offer
this and I know we need it because of
how busy I have been,” said Towsley.
“Every child varies in progress. You
should give the program two to four
months but depending on the severity
it could very more.
