NSSA YOUNG MEMBER PROFILE: TAYLOR WATSON

Hi my name is Taylor Watson. I’ m the Managing Director for Strong Ox Australia.

WHICH BRAND OF SECURITY SCREEN DO YOU MANUFACTURE? Amplimesh Security Products: SupaScreen and IntrudaGuard.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH STRONG OX? The Watson family started Strong Ox in August 2013. So what’ s that? Nearly four years.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB? Those complicated‘ quirky’ jobs where you need to get into the design aspect of the project and come up with something totally out of the box to satisfy the project.
WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART ABOUT YOUR JOB? Managing the team and making sure that all projects leave our factory on-time and to the highest quality possible.
FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION? New business managers don’ t get to go on holidays.
FAVOURITE BAND? At the moment, Five Finger Death Punch.
BEST LOCAL EATERY? The best local eatery around Strong Ox’ s factory is hands down the Somerton Park Cafe. It’ s just across the road.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PART OF
THE NSSA? For us, being a part of the NSSA means that there is finally an industry body to make sure the legitimate security door suppliers and companies in the industry have a voice, and that those that are not supplying their customers with proper security products either need to pull up their socks and supply something of quality and testing, or label their products accordingly as inferior products.
I’ m just happy that it will allow the consumers to‘ at a glance’ pick out the companies of quality and legitimacy.

NSSA WELCOMES EXECUTIVE OFFICER JACKY MANNS

Jacky Manns recently joined the Secretariat team in Sydney as Executive Officer of the National Security Screen Association( NSSA), the Window Film Association of Australia and New Zealand( WFAANZ) and the Automotive Glass Association( AGA). We asked her a few questions to introduce her to the membership.

WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR JOB? The most rewarding part of my job would definitely have to be building solid and ongoing client relationships. These bonds can only be forged in due time through networking and good customer relations. When a customer builds a bond with an association where they feel they are being provided the best service available, they will continue to come back year after year. I feel as though this gives you a sense of achievement.
WHERE DO YOU HOPE TO SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS? In five years, I would like to be in a managerial position after furthering my studies and possibly completing my MBA.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK? I enjoy reading, my‘ Jug’( Pug x Jack Russell), good food and time spent with friends and family.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE OR MOTTO?“ What defines us is how we rise after falling.”
