A MATCH MANUFACTURED IN HEAVEN

While door and window hardware manufacturing and racing highspeed Supercars may appear to have little in common, Tekno Autosports and sponsor Doric are proving they’ re truly a match made in heaven.

In just four short years, Tekno Autosports has gone from a rookie race team to a front-running force in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. The popular team first stepped into the series in 2011, but its roots run deep into the early 2000’ s grassroots motorsport scene.
Like Doric, at the heart of Tekno are its personnel. The squad has formed one of the tightest, most effective and inspirational organisations in the industry thanks to a constant drive and a rich winning culture.
The team is made up of industry leading engineers and mechanics whose combined skills are driving the team to the top ranks of the sport.
Together, Doric and Tekno continue to climb the ladder of success by driving innovation and striving towards a bigger and better future.
That’ s why when long term Doric Ambassador and Supercar star Will Davison made the switch to Tekno in 2016, it made perfect sense for Doric to follow, especially given the fact that Doric has been a loyal supporter of Will since his first race.
The exciting new partnership has seen the # 19 Tekno Holden Commodore race throughout five different states and one territory so far this year sporting Doric branding.
For the team’ s new star, Will Davison, the move has paid dividends over and over again, with the driver claiming one win, one podium place and eight more top ten finishes so far this year.
The experienced racer is a perfect fit with the exciting and innovative team, having amassed 18 wins and 52 podium finishes over his illustrious Supercar career. Davison wasted no time getting up to speed in 2016, racking up his first win with the new squad just two rounds into the season.
The win at Tasmania’ s Symmons Plains Raceway cemented confidence in both the driver and team for their first season together. And now, half way into the season and sitting comfortably in sixth place in the standings, Davison has his eyes set firmly on the finish line.
“ I think we have shown this year that a small team can be a championship challenger,” Davison recently told supercars. com.

“ The first six events were always going to be settling in … it’ s been pretty good and I think as a team we are growing together.
“ I can improve a bit in the car and our pit stops and strategies will get better as well, so as a team we have a bit of room to move which is exciting.
“ So right now we are just cruising under the radar but hopefully we will shock a few people in the back half of the year and still be in the hunt.
“ I like flying under the radar to be honest, I prefer not really being talked about. Next thing come December and you’ re in the fight. That’ s what I’ d love, to still be there in the hunt come the end of the year.”
