Overview
“The future is green energy, sustainability & renewable energy,” once said
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the multifaceted actor. Well, it was true in its fullest
sense. With a growing concern for energy around the globe, the need for wind
energy to take on the pedestal is as important today than anything else.
Moreover, considering that the Government of India had also heavily invested
in sustainable development and pledged to build up a 40% share of non-fossil
fuel capacity in the power sector by 2030, it was time for Windergy India to
tighten the laces and call for an international rising on wind energy.
Wind Energy is poised to provide the foundation of the Renewable Energy
Program in India. Presently India has an installed capacity of 28000 MW of
wind energy making it the 4th largest in the world. In 2015, the Ministry of New
and Renewable Energy (MNRE) announced the targets for Wind Power
generation capacity at 60,000 MW by 2022.
