Eden Place Phase I - Completed!
UrbanMatters iscompleted, a 29 unit Nehemiah
homeownership community In the Dix Street
neighborhood. Eden Place is comprised of 3
and 4 bedroom townhomes sold at affordable
rates to first time homebuyers. It took a seven
year long fight by WIN to get the blighted
and abandoned former public housing site
revitalized -- a benefit to the new homeowners
and to the neighborhood.
Parkway Overlook - Funded!
The Parkway Overlook Tenant Association
and three WIN members — Brighter Day
United Methodist Church (located across the
street from Parkway Overlook), Metropolitan
Memorial United Methodist Church, and New
Life Ministries — have been organizing to
get the over 200 units at Parkway Overlook
redeveloped since they closed in 2008. After
obtaining Mayor Bowser’s public commitment
to fund Parkway Overlook in her first term and
conducting numerous community meetings, in
November 2016 the DC Housing Production
Trust Fund, finally committed $18 Million to
