Rowan Hall Student Lounge { 7 / 17 / 15 }
Constructed in the lower level of Rowan Hall as a gift of the 2015 and 2016 classes , the Student Lounge serves as a place for students to relax and socialize . There are pool tables , shuffleboard , and large screen TVs for students to use and enjoy . Rules and regulations specific to the lounge and its use are posted in the lounge .
Byers Lounge { 7 / 26 / 15 } Students may not be in the Byers Hall Lounge during the academic day .
Flag Etiquette { 7 / 17 / 07 }
During the academic year , the college ’ s US flag is raised and lowered to the appropriate bugle call . Williamson expects faculty , staff , and students to show proper respect to the flag during the bugle call , as follows :
Flag Raising and Flag Lowering The flag is raised on weekday mornings at 7:15am and lowered at 4:30pm . ( The evening bugle call is in two parts and takes a minute to play .) At all times when the US flag is raised , lowered , or processes into view , students must stand at attention with caps removed ( if applicable ) and right hand over their heart . If the bugles are heard on campus , even if the flag is out of the line of vision , one must stop and face the flagpole , in the same manner listed above .
Pledge of Allegiance { 8 / 2 / 15 }
Any time the Pledge of Allegiance is to be recited ( in daily chapel , other special occasions ), every student is expected to participate by standing at attention , with his left hand at his side ( not in his pocket ) and his right hand over his heart and reciting the words of the pledge . Failure to participate as noted or recite the pledge is a 4-point violation .
Morning Lineup { 7 / 17 / 07 }
Morning Lineup is held at 7:15am in front of Rowan Hall . ( In the case of inclement weather , attendance is taken upon entry to Chapel at 7:15am .) When the bell tower signals the quarter hour for Morning line-up , students must physically be in their designated place on the line-up pad , or they are late . After the bell tower sounds , students are called to stand at silent attention with right hand over their heart and hat off for the raising of the flag .
Following the flag raising , all students are to remain in their designated place while the Officer-on-Duty ( OD ) checks students for attendance and adherence to the Dress and Grooming Regulations . Class Presidents will assist the OD at Morning Lineup as directed . If a Class President is absent , the Vice President must take his place .
Evening Lineup { 6 / 25 / 19 }
Evening Lineup is the evening attendance check for students and occurs at 4:30pm , Monday through Thursday . Students must report in Classroom or Shop Dress ( other options are not permitted ) and must be in their designated places on the Lineup pad in front of Rowan Hall when the chimes begin to sound . Students are then called to stand at attention quietly , with hats off and right hands over their hearts , while the flag is lowered for the day .
In-season athletes do not report for Evening Lineup on days when they have a practice or game ; instead , they report directly to their coach who will account for their attendance . These athletes must walk around the rear of Rowan Hall to the athletic complex and not through the Lineup pad .
