Student Process for Appealing a Violation { 6 / 12 / 24 } 1 . Before submitting an appeal , speak to the supervisor who issued the violation in an effort to resolve the issue . 2 . If unresolved , submit an official appeal online ( in Blackbaud under “ Forms ”) within seven ( 7 ) calendar days after the violation is approved . 3 . The Vice President of Student Affairs will determine if the violation qualifies for an appeal , and if so , will notify the issuing supervisor and forward the appeal to the Chair of the CCRC . 4 . The administration / faculty / staff members of the CCRC will assess the merit of the appeal and determine if a hearing will be scheduled . If the appeal does not have merit , the violation is upheld , and an explanation of the denial will be distributed to both parties .
5 . If the appeal has merit , the issuing supervisor and you will receive an explanation and a hearing will be scheduled .
6 . At the hearing , the CCRC will listen to the issuing supervisor ’ s and your respective accounts . You may bring witnesses to your hearing . The CCRC then votes by majority to uphold , remove , or modify the violation and that decision is distributed to both parties .
7 . The administration may expedite the process for submitting and / or hearing appeals , as necessary .
8 . Questions or concerns regarding CCRC decisions should be submitted to the Provost for consideration within two ( 2 ) business days after the distribution of the decision .
Please note : It is the general practice of the CCRC to attempt to come to a decision on any disciplinary appeal within 30 days of its submission .
