System of Rewards / Incentives { 6 / 30 / 23 }
In recognition of the effort required for students to comply with Williamson ’ s Conduct Code , a series of rewards / incentives is offered . Students may accumulate rewards over the course of a year but may not carry them over from one year to the next ( except early dismissal privilege , see below ).
For the following reward , the academic year is divided into four quarters : August 15 – October 15 , October 16 – December 31 , January 1 – March 1 , March 2 – April 15 .
Overnight Leaves Any student who has accrued 8 points or less in a quarter earns 1 Overnight Leave . Any student who has accrued 0 points in a quarter earns an additional Overnight Leave . ( See section on “ Overnight Leaves ” for procedure ). Students who live 1 hour or more from campus may request an alternate incentive , such an Early Weekend Dismissal Pass , which allows a student to leave up to 15 minutes prior to Weekend Dismissal . Certain conditions apply .
Academic Day Off Students with no violations in a semester will be granted one day off in the subsequent semester . Each year , Student Affairs will coordinate with Academic Affairs to predesignate a number of days from which students may choose . The day off must be coordinated in advance though the Student Affairs office .
Positive Points { 6 / 10 / 23 }
To the same degree that violations of the Conduct Code garner points against a student ’ s disciplinary record , which can lead to Disciplinary Points and Probation , there exists a process whereby adherence to the Conduct Code can remove those points . “ Positive points ” counteract and eliminate points already on a student ’ s record . A student earns positive points simply by not accruing additional violations . For each calendar month that passes , students who have not accrued any new violations will have 4 points removed from their disciplinary record . Positive points cannot be banked below a zero-point total . Positive points also do not counteract a student previously meeting a points threshold . Due to the timing of Winter Break , December and January timelines are combined .
Juniors with Senior Privilege { 6 / 23 / 21 }
Juniors who make the Dean ’ s List ( 3.67 GPA ) the previous semester have earned “ Senior Privilege ” and may leave campus following Evening Lineup in the same manner as Seniors . Senior Privilege is calculated semester to semester , meaning that a Junior may have Senior privilege in the Fall of his Junior year , but may lose it for the Spring if his Fall grades slip . Juniors who qualify for Senior Privilege must return to campus no later than 10pm each night .
Juniors should be aware that the use of ANY leave privilege in the evening does not excuse a student from a detail , dorm meeting , game / practice requirements , etc . Additionally , any Junior who was confined to the dorm by Health Services that day or is on Academic or Disciplinary Probation may not leave campus in the evening .
Monday Morning Return ( Seniors ) { 7 / 16 / 16 }
In addition to being able to leave campus in the evenings when they do not have a conflict , Seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher from the semester prior are not required to return to campus on Sunday evenings but may return prior to Morning Line-up on Monday mornings . Seniors must be present at Morning Line-up , groomed and ready for inspection . Continued use of this privilege in the Spring semester is dependent on the Senior ’ s Fall semester GPA . Current Juniors should make note of how their spring GPA will affect the fall semester of their Senior year .
