Welcome back to the 2016-2017 school year ! I hope students and staff have had an enjoyable and relaxing summer and were able to spend a little extra time with family and friends .
A new school year is always filled with excitement and some anxiety . As the parents of our 7 year old son , Quinn , my wife Shanna and I are experiencing the same feelings that every parent feels as their children head back to school . Setting a daily routine right away and sticking to it as much as possible will help ease those anxieties and help our children have the best school year possible .
Wildcat Weekly from the Superintendent : Jason Marshall
I am happy to report that our student enrollment has already reached 3,400 during the first week of school , and the number is still climbing . Thank you to parents for entrusting Palestine ISD with your child ’ s education .
As district administrators and I visited campuses this week , it was great to see the faces of students eager and ready to learn and teachers already busy motivating and engaging their students .
Have a great 2016-2017 school year !
The 2016-2017 school year brings good news for Palestine ISD property owners . Palestine ISD was recently able to refinance the 2009 Bond at a lower interest rate due to favorable trends in the bond market . To pass this savings on to taxpayers , the PISD Board of Trustees voted at the August school board meeting to lower the school district ’ s tax rate .
Again , welcome back to school , and thank you to everyone for playing an important role in making the first two weeks of school a success .
Remember that Monday , September 5th will be a normal school day .
