Palestine High School has a new welding teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. Gary Scoggin graduated from our very own Palestine High School in 2008. While he was in high school, he took Agriculture classes which started his passion for welding. He knew he wanted to pursue a future in welding, so he took the vocational route to success. After graduating high school, he traveled to Waco, Texas to build a career and continue improving his welding skills at Texas State Technical College. Mr. Scoggin graduated with an associates degree in welding technologies. He was hired by a company that allowed him to use his skills all over the world. He has traveled to many countries, a few being: Russia, Malaysia,Trinidad, Singapore, South Africa, and Dubai. Scoggin has a wife and a 6 month old child which is why he decided to come back to Palestine and settle down to spend more time with them. Welcome back to Palestine High School, Mr. Scoggin!
