MINISTER’ S MESSAGE MINISTRY OF WORKS

YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Board of Engineers Malaysia( BEM) on the successful publication of Who’ s Who in Engineering Malaysia, Volume 3. This continuous effort by BEM deserves commendation, as it underscores their dedication and commitment to fulfilling their roles and responsibilities in documenting the dynamic contributions of engineers in Malaysia.
Creating an engineer database in a book form is no easy task, but it is an essential and impactful initiative. This publication plays a vital role in aligning with Malaysia’ s holistic national development goals, especially in today’ s fast-evolving landscape marked by rapid technological advancements and the integration of Artificial Intelligence( AI) across various industries. The approach taken by BEM in producing this meaningful document is commendable, as it enriches our understanding of the role, contributions, and expertise of engineers.
The Ministry of Works actively encourages its agencies to develop reference materials, whether in physical or digital formats, to serve as valuable resources for the government and stakeholders. The publication of Volume 3 of Who’ s Who in Engineering Malaysia is a welcome addition to this effort and a complement to the previous two volumes. We look forward to the continuation of this initiative with future editions, as this book not only serves as an important reference for Malaysia but also positions itself as a resource for the global engineering community. I deeply appreciate BEM’ s continuous efforts and dedication to this endeavor— well done!
Engineers and the field of engineering form a crucial part of the national development ecosystem. Over the past six decades, Malaysia’ s engineering sector has made significant contribution towards nation’ s progress and development. The wealth of information in this publication will support the nation in strengthening and empowering the engineering field as it continues to evolve with advancements in science, technology and innovation.
Once again, my congratulations to BEM for this outstanding achievement.
