Golf News Turf Talk at White Columns Longer days and warmer temperatures are finally among us! As March comes to a close, we are excited about our progress and even more excited about the possibilities ahead of us. Aerification the first week in March went according to plan. The weather cooperated all three days, which made the process much easier for us. We will continue to top dress the greens weekly in order to provide a smooth playing surface while the greens recover from all the stress of aerification. Looking ahead, the greens should be healed in over the next few weeks as we all look forward to prime golfing weather! Beyond aerification, we will begin edging and pinestrawing all the beds on the golf course. We always look forward to pinestrawing even though it can be very redundant and time consuming. The definition it gives every hole is unbelievable. As many of you may have noticed, we laid fresh black mulch on the parkway as well, bringing a little excitement to the drive in to the club. We will also add some black mulch areas on the golf course, adding some contrast between pine straw and grass. Looking ahead, we are very excited about what the future holds for the entire property. With the pool reinvention, the addition to the tennis center, and all the progress on the golf course we couldn’t be more ecstatic! Hopefully as the grass greens up, you will join us at The Club as we kick off an exciting year at White Columns!
