"Wingless Angels"
by Veronica Dannemiller
From the beginning, you were made to be a saint,
But you never got the chance,
You knew you were special,
So you flew up into Heaven without a second glance.
You’re a beautiful little angel,
Who knows how to fly,
But you never got your wings,
Instead, you close your eyes and glide.
You dance with the saints,
And sing with the angels,
You’re held by Jesus,
And loved by the faithful.
You were never meant to see the sun,
But to paint the skies.
You color the clouds with tears and love,
You and every little wingless angel who’s too young to die.
