It also hosts a conference that connects burgeoning local artists with industry representatives from Canada and abroad . This year ’ s musicians include Latinx electronic singer-songwriter Lido Pimienta , winner of the 2017 Polaris Music Prize , and many rising Ottawa acts including the post-apocalyptic power-pop of Scattered Clouds , soulful hip hop and R & B from Blakdenim , and pure punk fun from sludgy surf rockers Bonnie Doon .
