It ’ s a raucous swirl of adrenaline , rock music , fireworks , and top bull riders riding for national pride and $ 1,000,000 . Yes , a million bucks — earned eight seconds at a time .
Australia , Brazil , Canada , Mexico , and the United States have chosen their five leading bull riders and , along with their coaches , face off in what will prove to be one of the most exciting competitions of the season .

Canada ’ s greatest full rodeo showdown is the Canadian Finals Rodeo , and it ’ s here in Edmonton . Featuring the top rough stock riders and timed event cowboys and cowgirls , the CFR is celebrating its 44th year . Fittingly , the nation ’ s most prestigious rodeo was the first rodeo held in Northlands Coliseum , and when the lights go down after the sixth round , it will also be the Coliseum ’ s last .

The best of the best will be here ; outrageously talented bucking stock , super-trained roping and barrel racing and steer wrestling horses — all celebrated with breathtaking opening ceremonies and exciting intermission entertainment .
The rodeo events featured at the CFR include bareback riding , steer wrestling , boys ’ steer riding , team roping , saddle bronc riding , tie-down roping , ladies ’ barrel racing and bull riding . It ’ s big bucks and glory , but make no mistake — each of the 100-plus competitors are riding for the big , big prize : Canadian Champion . w
