Course Name: Baking and Pastry I Type of Course: Elective Course Available to: 11th and 12th grade
Prerequisites: Introduction to Culinary Arts( 70 %+)
Description: This is the second course in the Baking and Pastry Pathway. This course will provide an indepth study of baking and pastry arts. Areas of study include baking terminology, tool and equipment use, formula conversions, functions of ingredients, and methods used in creating breads, pastries, cookies, and other desserts.
Course Name: Baking and Pastry II Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 11th and 12th grade
Prerequisites: Baking and Pastry I( 70 %+)
Description: This is the third course in the Baking and Pastry Pathway. This course is an advanced and rigorous in-depth course designed for the student who is continuing in the Baking and Pastry Pathway and wishes to continue their education at the postsecondary level or enter the food-service industry as a proficient and well-rounded individual. Strong importance is given to refining hands-on production of the classic fundamentals in the commercial kitchen. Students who successfully complete this should be prepared to take an End of Pathway Assessment( EOPA) to be able to earn an industry-recognized credential.

Course Name: Marketing Principles Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 9th- 11th grade
Prerequisites: None
Description: This course is the foundational course for the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Pathway. This course addresses all the ways in which marketing satisfies consumer and business needs and wants for products and services. Students develop a basic understanding of employability, foundational business and marketing skills, economics, entrepreneurship, marketing information management, product / service management, promotion, selling, and channel management and distribution.
