MATHEMATICS
The Mathematics department ' s mission is to see Wheeler students demonstrate a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, actively engage in problem-solving, be able to reason logically, communicate mathematical ideas clearly, and consistently practice to develop proficiency.
Students will be exposed to learning through: Conceptual Understanding: Students should go beyond memorizing formulas and procedures to grasp the underlying mathematical concepts and their connections. Problem-Solving Skills: Students should gain the ability to analyze problems, develop strategies, and apply mathematical knowledge to solve complex questions. Critical Thinking: Students should reason logically, identify patterns, and justify mathematical arguments. Accuracy and Precision: Students should learn how to present solutions with correct calculations and appropriate notation.
