SPECIAL SERVICES: SPECIAL EDUCATION
Students receiving services through the special education department have had an Individualized Education Plan( IEP) developed to meet their educational needs. Each student should complete their registration form with the help of their IEP team( parent, case manager, special education lead teacher, and regular education teacher) to ensure that requirements in the IEP are met.

SPECIAL SERVICES: ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES( ESOL) AND INTENSIVE ENGLISH LANGUAGE( IEL)
ESOL is a state-funded program for English learners( ELs) in grades K-12. The program ' s goal is to help ELs increase their English language proficiency and academic language proficiency. For students in their first year of school in the USA. Cobb County provides families with the option of enrolling in a one-year Intensive English Language( IEL) Program. IEL students develop their proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English through specialized language instruction provided by a highly skilled and qualified ESOL teacher. They actively practice general, social, instructional, and academic language and work towards the goal of moving up one or more full proficiency levels in English.
Students receiving services through the ESOL department should complete their registration based off their current IEL / ESOL teacher recommendations, along with parental / guardian input, in order to ensure proper placement and services are met.
