The second album came only one year later and was called ‘Coming from Reality’. His music career was short since his two albums got terrible reviews and didn’t sell anything in the US. Rodriguez stopped trying to make a successful career out of his music after that and was soon forgotten. Many believed he had committed suicide but no one really knew. An Australian record label bought the rights to his songs and released his two records. The records sold platinum in South Africa. Why you ask? Rodriguez’s Is it just me or do more people like this documentary? Well New York Times gave it it’s highest grade and it did receive an Oscar for best documentary in 2013, a BAFTA for best documentary and a DGAWGA- PGA- and ACE Eddie Award, them too for best documentary.
