Cinema and TV SWEDEN Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy; Let the Right one in; Sugar Man by Konrad Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Let the Right one in Tomas Alfredson is a Swedish director from Lidingö. He grew up in a home where movies were often on the topic as his father was an director and pretty famous actor. His father was constantly out working so he pretty much grew up in a home without his father. Every summer he met his father and used to accompany him at his workplaces where he met with many famous movie people and he got a idea of what the movie bussiness was all about. His career started to really be something when he began to direct several famous Swedish tv-programs. Programs called ”Fångarna på fortet” and ”Bert”. A couple of years after this Tomas Alfredson started working at his real ”breakthrough movie” called ”Låt den rätte komma in” which later got an american adaption called ”Let the right one in”. Låt den rätte komma in is about a boy called Oskar living in the suburbs of Stockholm in the mid 80´s. The boy gets very bullied at school and has a pretty tough life at home aswell. One day he meets this skinny little girl at the playground outside his house called Eli. They develop a great friendship, but Oskar senses there is something a little of about Eli. Soon he realizes Eli is a vampire. He later began working at the movie Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy which got great reviews from several film critics. It´s kind of a coldwar-based movie in the 70´s. The main character is called George Smiley (played by Gary Oldman), a retired MI6 agent who is trying to adapt to the life outside securityservices. When he gets information that there is a ”mole” (a spy) at the top positions of MI6 he is forced back to work to find out who
