Capital Requests:
•The Public Safety Radio Project, which is the multi-year project to replace the current aging 800MHz System, received $18.4 million over the next two fiscal years to continue implementing this project.
•$2.5 million has been approved to expand the existing 9-1-1 Operations Floor to add additional eight 24x7 dispatcher workstations.
•For long-term space planning, the City supports DEM’s concept of adding a new addendum building at 1011 Turk Street. This project was included in the City’s 10-Year Capital Plan and the funding of $1.0 million will account for the environmental review required for this new project, along with preliminary special designs.
Information Technology Requests
•$75,000 has been approved for the transition of the SF72.org website to the universal website platform, Drupal. This transition will allow DEM greater flexibility in updating existing content and creating relevant and new SF72.org content.
•$30,000 has been approved over the next two fiscal years to begin a three-year plan to replace laptops and cell phones for the DES Duty Officers.
