Earlier in the year we received a lot of entries to the amateur photography competition. The response was impressive as usual, which always makes the job of choosing the winner much harder! After a lot of thought and consideration we’d like to congratulate. . . Leanne Monks from Malanda! Leanne loves capturing the Tablelands natural beauty, “I’m a keen amateur and enjoy taking photos in my spare time. “I have a love for landscape and nature photography... we live in such a beautiful part of the world, and I enjoy trying to capture images to reflect that,” Leanne said. She recalls the morning she took the winning photograph in early November, “It is almost expected if you want to catch a great photo of our beautiful region, then sunrise or sunset are the optimal times. I was up at 4am and driving by 4.30am to capture a ‘Sunrise at Windy Hill’. A new day dawned and I was feeling very grateful to be a resident of the Atherton Tablelands.” – A big thank you to all the entrants for taking the time to submit their photographs!
