MEDICAL SPONSORSHIP
We can sponsor you through university if you:
• are on a degree course at a UK medical school
• aim to join the RAF as a Medical Officer.
• please note not all specialities are available e. g. paediatrics, geriatrics, obstetrics or gynaecology and speciality options may vary each year.
As a sponsored medical student, you can receive a bursary of £ 3,000 a year during year three of your medical degree, plus up to £ 1,500 for 30 days of training on the University Air Squadron. In your third year, you can apply to be upgraded to a cadetship for your final 2 years at university.
As a medical Cadet, you can receive pay of approximately £ 18,000 in your penultimate year and £ 20,000 in your final year at university, in addition to payment of your tuition fees, registration fees and an allowance towards books.
In return we expect you to:
• join the University Air Squadron, where you will have the opportunity to undertake flying training and adventurous training;
