Oil Treatment

For oil treatment potions the Native Americans use several oils and mix them together; the most common oils for this use are castor oil, bergamot oil and sweet almond oil. The castor oil strengthens the hair and the bergamot oil adds shine to it. After mixing the oils together, they heat it up and than put on the hair for about twenty minutes.

Conditioner

The basis of the conditioners of the Native Americans is lard and honey. They use about 1-2 spoons of each for one portion. The additional ingredients also depend on the exact purpose of the conditioner, but popular elements are maple syrup or cooked pumpkin. They mix the

ingredients together and, after melting the mixture, they massage it into their hair.
