Blind Love

by Elise Coronado

I quickly scan my eyes around the room,

until I see those deep clear sky blue eyes,

enchanted by those bright eyes that consume

as if under a witch's spell, whose lies

allure to love that is not only blind

but oblivious to the faults in thy spell,

fights, arguments, there is no peace of mind

yet this blind love of mine leads me to quell

the doubts that absorb my thoughts and wisdom,

the happy memories numb the feelings

of the gloomy days in which I fathom

to be the power that keeps me dreaming

of perfect love, in a perfect world, yet

there is no us, but I choose to forget

Young, innocent, oblivious, happy

it is the time to bloom like a flower

to be given away by her daddy

to live, to love, and to seize the hour

but as soon as the flower was to bloom

mother nature took its life and power,

leaving the father in the living room

filled with agony as his will power
