Does chelsea spend more on wages than transfers?
As shown in the previous section, Chelsea clearly have one of the largest transfer budgets in the league. They have been able to fight for the likes of Eden Hazard with the different clubs that are after him. But the real question is 'Do they offer the same quality of contracts as Manchester United do?'. With the ability to be able to afford £50 million transfers, one would expect that they can afford massive wages. However, can they match the elite teams of Europe with their contracts?.
Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres both star as Chelsea's top earners. John Terry, former England captain, is the 3rd highest earner.
