I'll read the name of a group and I'd like you to rate your feelings to tha t group between 0 and 100 using something we call the feeling thermometer. Ratings between 50 degrees and 100 degrees mean that you feel favourable and warm toward the group. Ratings between 0 degrees and 50 degrees mean that you don't feel favourable and don't care too much for that group. You would rate the group at the 50 degree mark if you don't feel particularly warm or cold toward the group. Feel free to use the entire extent of the scale. - People who are not religious Base: All respondents Gender Total Male (a) Age Female (b) 18-24 (d) 25-34 (e) 35-44 (f) Class 45-54 (g) 55-64 (h) 65+ (i) AB (j) C1 (k) Region C2 (l) DE (m) Scotland (n) North East (o) North West (p) Yorkshire & Humberside (q) West Midlands (r) East Midlands (s) Wales (t) Eastern (u) London (v) South East (w) South West (x) Unweighted base 1008 517 491 85 152 167 183 158 263 411 203 158 236 93 41 105 92 94 70 53 99 136 134 91 Weighted base 1008 491 517 117* 175 165 180 145 226 271 271 220 246 88* 42* 116* 86* 91* 75* 51* 98* 133 141 89* 19 21% 17 22% 12 24% 28 28% 2 3% 2 3% 1 1% 91-100 262 26% 120 24% 142 28% 30 25% 52 30% 47 29% 49 27% 33 23% 51 22% 81 30%LM 88 32%LM 45 20% 48 20% 28 32%X 14 34%x 81-90 61 6% 34 7% 27 5% 8 7% 14 8% 13 8% 9 5% 7 5% 10 4% 27 10%lM 17 6%m 11 5% 6 2% 6 7%U 4 10%U 71-80 137 14% 71 14% 66 13% 17 15% 28 16% 16 9% 24 14% 25 17%f 27 12% 39 14% 37 14% 26 12% 35 14% 12 14% 3 6% 14 12% 13 15% 11 13% 61-70 62 6% 34 7% 28 5% 11 9%E 5 3% 9 5% 16 9%E 7 5% 13 6% 20 7% 18 7% 9 4% 14 6% 2 2% 2 5% 7 6% 4 4% 5 5% 5 6% 2 4% 51-60 48 5% 24 5% 24 5% 5 4% 6 3% 12 7%G 3 1% 9 6%G 14 6%G 9 3% 9 3% 16 7%j 15 6% 1 1% - 3 3% 6 7%n 5 6%n 2 3% 3 6%n 41-50 385 38% 180 37% 205 40% 40 34% 66 38% 61 37% 68 38% 58 40% 92 41% 87 32% 94 35% 34 38% 17 41% 33 28% 29 34% 43 47%P 30 40% 20 39% 31-40 14 1% 5 1% 9 2% - 1 1% 1 1% 5 3% 2 1% 5 2% 2 1% 4 2% 4 2% 4 2% 1 1% 1 1% 1 1% 2 2% - 2 3% 21-30 10 1% 9 2%B 1 * - 3 1% 1 * 3 1% - 5 2%h 2 1% 2 1% 2 1% 4 2% - - 2 2% 3 3% - 11-20 5 * 3 1% 2 * - - 1 * - 1 1% 3 1% 1 * - 1 * 3 1%k 1 1% - 1 1% - 0-10 25 2% 12 2% 13 3% 6 5%E 1 * 5 3%e 3 2% 3 2% 7 3%e 2 1% 2 1% 6 3% 15 6%JK 3 4% 1 2% 1 1% NET: 51-100 569 56% 282 57% 287 56% 71 61% 104 60% 97 58% 101 56% 81 56% 115 51% 49 56% NET: 50 - Neither / Nor 384 38% 179 36% 205 40% 40 34% 66 38% 60 36% 68 38% 58 40% 92 41% 55 5% 30 6% 25 5% 6 5% 5 3% 8 5% 10 6% 6 4% NET: 0-49 19 9%Eh 102 102 46%JK 41%J 176 169 106 65%LM 62%LM 48% 87 32% 94 35% 8 3% 8 3% 118 48% 102 102 46%JK 41%J 12 5% 26 11%JKl 11 9%U 4 4% 6 6%u 15 21%oV 12 11 23%Opu 11% V 30 23% 8 6%u 31 22% 14 10%U 16 18% 4 4% 12 9% 20 14% 8 8%n 9 7% 8 5% 11 13%Nqw 8 8%No 7 5% 4 3% 9 10%NoPw 39 40% 53 40%p 54 39% 32 36% - 1 1% 3 2% 2 1% 1 1% 1 1% - * 1% 1 1% 3 2% - - - - 1 1% 1 1% 2 1% - 2 2% 2 2% - - 2 2% 8 6%pst 3 2% 2 2% 23 55% 77 50 67%RVw 58% 46 51% 41 56% 31 61% 55 56% 67 50% 77 54% 53 60% 33 38% 17 41% 33 28% 29 34% 43 47%P 30 40% 20 39% 39 40% 53 40%p 54 39% 32 36% 6 7%t 1 3% 6 5% 6 8%t 2 2% 3 4% - 4 4% 13 10%RT 10 7%t 3 4% Proportions/Means: Columns Tested (5%, 10% risk level) - a/b - c/d/e/f/g/h/i - j/k/l/m - n/o/p/q/r/s/t/u/v/w/x/y Overlap formulae used. * small base; ** very small base (under 30) ineligible for sig testing Prepared for Channel 4 and Juniper by ICM 43 24 37%RsV 28% WX 14 15%
