MOST of us think of Pinterest as the place to go for recipes, inspirational quotes or fashion tips. But, filmmakers are increasingly turning to the social media platform to fund and promote their projects. Pinterest is also a great resource for filmmakers to easily access everything from production tips, information about festivals and funding resources. One of the great things about Twitter is that you can follow everyone from President Obama( OK, it’ s not really him sitting there Tweeting) to Kim Kardashian( please don’ t) to Oprah( also probably not her Tweeting). If you’ ve ever thought that being inside the writer’ s room of your favourite show would be an awesome, yet unattainable, experience, now you can see what they’ re up to via Twitter. When they’ re not busy writing and banging their head against the wall trying to come up with ideas, some writers engage with fans and give you a little glimpse into their virtual world.

There are almost 60,000 fans following this feed( that’ s a huge number for a writer’ s room), and their Twitter bio says,“ Don’ t say we didn’ t warn you.” If you love this CBS show about defense attorney Alicia Florrick( Julianna Margulies), you might want to check out what this writer’ s room is up to. They’ re not too cool to interact with followers, which is always refreshing. They post articles about the cast and the show, they let you know when a cast member will be on a talk show, and they pose questions that you can answer to show how totally enamored with the show you really are. They also live Tweet episodes on occasion.

It makes sense that a show this fun – and funny – would have a writer’ s room feed with the same humorous tone. The scribes writing this ensemble comedy about a group of endearingly dysfunctional Chicago friends are having a grand old time on Twitter judging by their feed. They will often post“ for fans only” pictures( from set or the writers’ room), inside jokes, and they’ ll retweet the cast and directors so that you know what the whole crew is up to.
