l l a b t e N “For the past three years, netball taught me that giving up is never the answer. Always be persistent.” Erin Julies “Netball has taught me teamwork and to have fun while working hard. It teaches us to think fast and accurately.” Cayla De Jager “Getting into the C team really made me feel good. I have learnt a lot from our coaches.” Caitlin King “All that mattered was to work together. I have improved and so has my team, helping each other.” Miranda Bodla “I have grown as a team player and sportswoman.” Jessica Green-Thompson Straight from the mouths of our U13 team players. It is evident that netball has reached new heights at WGJS. We have shared in many more wins than before and one of the greatest honours this year was walking away from the Inter-Schools PGSGU Tournament with the winners trophy, having last won this auspicious event in 2004! And to make things even more special for this year, we also left the Sun Valley Tournament with the Spirit cup firmly in our team’s hands. Our player numbers are ever increasing as we have opened up the opportunity this year to accommodate teams beyond just A and B. Girls from all ages have been thrilled to be able to participate in a sport that they have always enjoyed from the sideline, cheering our players on. WGJS netball has been put on the map and made the Wynberg family proud. We have been invited to many events this year, where we came home beaming with happy memories made and new friendships formed. Some of these events include the Sun Valley 5-a-side tournament, the All Girls Festival, the U9 Night Lights Netball Competition at Kirstenhof and the exciting inter-schools tournament hosted by Sweet Valley. From Foundation Phase ball skills to LO sport, holiday clinics and afternoon practices our netball skills are continuously improving and a love and passion for netball is growing. We cannot wait for another winter season come 2019 to show more of our roaring Wynberg pride on the netball courts. M s Nad é ne van Loggerenberg 68
