Electrical Circuits This year we were able to make electrical circuits, using two wires, a battery and a small light bulb. We made incomplete and complete circuits and when we made a complete circuit the bulb would light up. We also guessed if a certain circuit was complete or incomplete then tested our theories. Isabella Smuts Learning about circuits was both intriguing and frustrating. I found it exciting, building electrical transferring devices was something brand new to me. When we finally got to the building activities, that wire plugged not into just one light bulb, but the one in my brain. It was so interesting to learn about electricity and wires. This was one of my favourite natural science lessons! Molly E lbaba Advertise a Country In term 3 we had to advertise a country and I have to say it was amazing. It was a good opportunity for us because we became the teacher. We had to do research and teach ourselves about a new country, then advertise it to the class. School is about having fun and knowing when it’s time to learn and listen. When you listen and take notes, school becomes easier and that is what makes it fun to learn. Hayden Coetzee I looked forward to my oral since we got the rubric. I was quite nervous, but I didn’t stay up all night worrying about it. I learnt how to project my voice in an advertising way, which helped me become more confident. But (there’s always a but) I loved learning different things about my chosen country (England) which was fun! Emily Volker Self-propelled Cars It was so much fun to make car models – to build them and decorate them. We built them at the Cape Town Science Centre during our Term 3 trip. We used a balloon to make the car move. This was a fun project. Jessica Butler 43
